Wednesday Breakfast Club Week 5

This is a lovely recipe for those chilly winter days in the snow down in the south island or in the flooded areas on the north island. Full of nuts and seeds and for nutrients and satiety and fruit for sweetness this will make a great start to the day and keep you going till lunchtime.


Quantities per person:-

  • 1 heaped tablespoon raisins or sultanas
  • 2 level tablespoons rolled jumbo oats
  • Almonds and/or walnuts (optional)
  • Pumpkin, sunflower and/or sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons natural unsweetened yoghurt
  • 1 large apple
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
  • 1 pinch cinnamon (optional)
  • Soak rolled oats, raisins, nuts, seeds & water overnight.
  • Add grated or chopped apple and chopped banana.
  • Add all other ingredients, mix together and enjoy.


Note: Other seasonal fruit can be used if desired. Organic produce is preferred but not essential.
